Across the world, people like to party and dress up at various times, and role-playing is something children do every day. Festive Articles and products for carnival are now generating impressive revenue all year round. Of course, fireworks sales skyrocket especially on New Years Eve and various national holidays. Manufacturers traditionally sell costumes, decorations, rockets and other items via the toy trade as well. That is why the Spielwarenmesse is considered the most important event for all well-known suppliers and market leaders such as Andrea Moden, Rubie’s, WECO and many more.

The Spielwarenmesse is a date not to be missed for making contacts and previewing the season ahead with the most important international vendors. It is also a welcome opportunity to link up with new vendors in order to avail of the variety on offer. I would like to express my appreciation to all Carnival exhibitors who take time out for this fair in the middle of the season!

We are very satisfied with the new Showtime activity area. The catwalk allowed us to show trade visitors many of our new costumes several times a day. This is something we just couldn’t do at our own stand. The activity area is an enrichment for the product group Festive Articles, Carnival, Fireworks. It was well received by the trade visitors and draws attention to the various product areas in Hall 8.

Bangers, firecrackers and rockets are often in demand for seasonal occasions and are therefore not sold all year round. Although sales are strictly regulated in some countries, manufacturers and retailers are generally satisfied with the sales generated. According to the American Pyrotechnics Association (APA), sales of fireworks are still rising in the US. In Germany, too, the Association of the Pyrotechnic Industry (VPI) estimates that sales of fireworks are stable.
The trend in the market is towards firework cakes. Once lit, different effects are produced for several minutes. Rockets are also still very popular.
Competition with imports from Asia is fierce. Many renowned manufacturers are therefore choosing to focus on safety and quality standards and are managing to hold their own on the market.
