Just six months after signing a one-year, first-look deal to identify toy properties for The Nacelle Co.’s development and production slate, Michael Goodman has joined the company full-time.
The Nacelle Co., producers of Netflix’s The Toys That Made Us, The Movies That Made Us, and the multiplatform A Toy Store Near You, appointed Goodman to the role of vice president, management and development. In his new role at Nacelle’s management division, he will specialize in packaging intellectual properties (IP) for development.
Over the past 10 years, Goodman has led MLGPC, a boutique licensing agency through which he’s represented toy designers, authors, illustrators, and other creatives in packaging and licensing their IP. Throughout his career, Goodman has identified, sold, and licensed IP to companies including Hasbro, Mattel, Spin Master, Jakks Pacific, Funko, Super7, Saban Brands, Just Play, Goliath Games, Creepy Co., Rainbow, YTV, Teletoon, Macmillan, and Scholastic.
Goodman recently consulted on and represented rights for Troma Entertainment (The Toxic Avenger, Toxic Crusaders, and Sgt. Kabukiman N.Y.P.D.) alongside new and classic toy brands such as Werepups, The Original Big Wheel, Robo Force, Power Lords, Great Garloo, Marx Toys, and more. Last fall, he brokered a deal between J. Lloyd International and Ahmet Zappa‘s Monsterfoot Productions (Disney’s The Odd Life of Timothy Green) for the rights to the Weird-Ohs monster hot rod model kits that were originally offered by the Hawk Model Co. in the 1960s.
