Trade fair novelties for the Spielwarenmesse® 2017 in the Lifestyle Products category: a large selection of fashion items and accessories for children, jewellery, make-up, licensed goods and much more awaits you in Nuremberg at the world’s largest toy fair. Here is a foretaste of some of the new products to be released in 2017.

In many walks of life, the heroes of tales from the mainstream media determine the feel and experience. Lightning McQueen from the Disney Pixar movie Cars is one such hero. HCM Kinzel is bringing him in the form of a wall sticker to children’s bedrooms in Germany, Austria and Switzerland with US company RoomMates. The stickers work on the principle of electrostatic attraction, which means they can be repositioned as often as you like without leaving any residue on your walls (Hall 10.0/I-09).

Child-friendly cosmetics

The perfume and cosmetics set from Clementoni opens up the world of cosmetics to children. They get to produce their very own creations: perfumes, soaps, creams and aromatic bath salts. The set includes essences and natural ingredients (Hall 10.1/A-01; Hall 10.1/A-02, C-03).

Barbie from Mattel is a style icon in children’s bedrooms. UK company Uwear is offering a handbag featuring the original Barbie logo from the nineties in 3D. The 90s are making a comeback and Uwear is embracing the fashion trend. Adults, too, can make a clear statement with this bag (Entrance Mitte/E-02).

From Ravensburger comes the original Mandala-Designer machine. Children aged six and older can use the electric machine to draw precisely symmetrical mandalas. This is thanks to a little motor on the inside, which always moves the template on the same distance after the desired motifs have been drawn. Once colourfully painted, unique, individually designed artworks result which also look great as wall decorations (Hall 12.0/A-12, D-13).

Scented bracelets

Jewellery and perfume often lead the way when it comes to lifestyle. With the GLAMMI scented bracelets from Italian company G.P.S. Cavicchi, both girls and boys can make their own personalised bracelets and combine them with a total of 12 different scents (Hall 9/A-84).

Children also become jewellers with the "precious gemstones" from Canadian company Tech 4 Kids, which has followed the looming trend with Gemmies Crystal Fashions (Hall 12.0/B-08-1).

Cosmetics for children must meet particular safety standards. Greek company Safe 'N' Beautiful PC is offering nail varnish that does just this. SNAILS (Safe Nails) are water soluble, but still stay on for a long time. 50 colours with safe ingredients are available (Hall 5/D-73).

Fat animals and cases that double up as toy vehicles

"Dicke Tiere" (fat animals) is the name given by WERKHAUS Design + Produktion to its new children’s wardrobes, which can also be used as storage containers in children’s rooms. Designer Barbara Theilen has used bears, seals and hippos as the template for her special furniture, with its harmonious colour combinations and minimalistic printed accents (Hall 3/B-15, C-14).

The wheeled suitcases from Spanish company JOUMMA BAGS ensure both stylish and entertaining travel. With their four wheels, they can also be used as a ride-on for children. The suitcases feature lots of successful licensing themes (Hall 4/B-29).
