Walter Köhn first exhibited at the Spielwarenmesse® five years ago. The friendly Plopper characters are some of the star turns in his range. And what’s not to like: use your thumbs to press the back of the Plopper, and the soft foam ball shoots off towards its target with an unmistakeable PLOP sound, covering up to six metres in distance. Walter Köhn likes to make use of secondary placement options away from his own stand in Hall 3A. In 2013 and 2016, he showcased his products at the presentation of new products in the TrendGallery.
With Just for Fun being a 2018 toy trend, he took the opportunity to prominently position his “Ritter Plopper” knight character on the trend island in the TrendGallery. “Our Ploppers totally fit the Just for Fun trend, as they are a whole lot of fun. At any age. With or without instructions. There is a fun factor for everyone and the fun keeps on coming each time you pick up the Plopper”, explained Walter Köhn. Happily, the Spielwarenmesse® agreed, and selected the product as a worthy representative of the trend.
Trend product PLOPPER pops the corks
The TrendGallery special area, a magnet for visitors and media representatives, is always very well frequented. Visitors can try out all of the products at the trend islands on activity tables at their leisure, with hostesses on hand at all times to answer any questions. Many of the national and international trade visitors came across Leif GmbH through this and visited the company’s stand after taking a walk around. Without this secondary placement, the product would have attracted much less attention. “The feedback was positive – very positive. We had so many customers come up to us”, said a pleased Walter Köhn.
TrendGallery puts products in the limelight
Walter Köhn likes the pleasant atmosphere and positive mood at the trade fair as a whole, among both visitors and exhibitors. Participation in the Spielwarenmesse® also puts Leif GmbH in contact with many international visitors, which it would never have access to otherwise. He is very positive about opting for a secondary placement again: “If we had innovations or products we needed to spotlight once more, we would be happy for them to feature in the TrendGallery again.”
