Fast knowledge for lasting success: From 2–6.2.2012 trade fair visitors will be able to expand their specialist knowledge at the Spielwarenmesse International Toy Fair Nürnberg. In the Toy Business Forum, practically oriented speakers will address special topics from 1-3 p.m. every day. During 30-minute lectures, speakers will give an expert insight into how specialist retailers can market toys more successfully.
On the first day of the specialist forum, the focus will be on international trends. Andreas Haderlein from the Zukunftsinstitut, Gabriela Kaiser from Trendagentur and US toy trend specialist Reyne Rice will show what moves the toy industry and which key trends are pointing the way ahead.
On Friday, 3.2.2012, the Toy Business Forum invites you to take part in some real networking and to get to grips with Web 2.0. For example, industry journalist Stephan Meixner will reveal the latest trends in online marketing which lead customers to make spontaneous purchases; while Kathleen Parma from Networks PR will present ten strategies showing retailers how to make best use of Facebook.
The third day of the Toy Business Forum is all about Toys4Teens, the special event at the 2012 Toy Fair. Axel Dammler, Managing Director of iconkids & youth, will present the representative study carried out by his market research institute on behalf of the organisers of Toys4Teens. During this research, young people revealed their consumer and toy and game-related habits. As a particular highlight, 17-year old Philipp Riederle will talk about his life as a “digital native”. At just 15 years of age, the schoolboy founded his own company and since then has been advising managers and retailers. He will explain how to understand and make use of the language of his generation.
On Sunday, Heinz Lehmann from idee+spiel Hannover will show, by means of an unusual event concept, how quickly adults can become children again. Félix Tena will also provide valuable practical tips. The founder and boss of the Spanish toy chain Imaginarium will reveal how retailers can skilfully appeal to and also attract both children and adults into their stores at the same time.
On Day 5, Claudia Horbert from the EHI Retail Institute will show how important good design is. In the age of the internet, the appearance of a real shop plays an ever greater role – because shopping must become an experience in order to attract customers into the shop in person.
The Toy Business Forum will take place during the Spielwarenmesse International Toy Fair Nürnberg, from Thursday, 2.2.2012, until Monday, 6.2.2012, in cooperation with the media partner, das spielzeug, the German toy industry journal from Meisenbach Verlag. Every day between 1-3 p.m. in the InnovationCenter in Hall 4 of the Nuremberg trade fair centre, visitors will be able to attend the short lectures free of charge in German and English.
