On Saturday at 13:00, speaker Axel Dammler, Managing Director of iconkids & youth, presents the results of the study for the Toy Fair Special “Toys 3.0 – The Next Generation”. How can traditional play be combined with the digital world? This year the International Toy Fair provides the answers to this question on an area of 300 m2. The focus is on classic toys with electronic play functions. There are various product demonstrations each day.
ToyInnovation – the International Toy Fair’s innovation programme
- ToyAward, InnovationCenter, hall 4, C-19–E-20
A jury of experts chooses the most creative new products in a two-stage selection procedure and these products receive the ToyAward in five categories. The fair visitors are called upon to choose a main winner in the InnovationCenter, which then receives the “Traders’ Favourite” award.

The InnovationCenter is the place to go for visitors looking for an overview of new products and trends in the toy world. The nominations and winners of the ToyAward 2013 are also on display here. The new easyPick information tool makes it possible to transfer information easily and quickly for the first time. Swiping a personal e-card over card readers at the central (Mitte) entrance, in hall 12.2 and in the press centre transfers the user’s contact details and the information collected can be called up on the PC at home.
ToyNetwork – where the toy network meets

Many game designers present their latest game ideas personally. The GamesCafé is a cooperation between the German Games Archive in Nuremberg, the Game Designers Association (SAZ) and Spielwarenmesse eG.
- New Exhibitor Center, hall 11.1
The New Exhibitor Center at the International Toy Fair in Nuremberg offers interested visitors direct contact with more than 54 first-time exhibitors from all over the world. All stands and entries of new exhibitors in the online catalogue are marked “New”.
- Young Innovative Companies, hall 11.1
27 start-ups present “Innovations made in Germany” in the Young Innovative Companies Pavilion. The project supported by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology is present at the International Toy Fair for the third time.
- International country pavilions, various halls
14 country pavilions make it easier to specifically search for the products of individual national markets. The International Pavilion Guide also provides a comprehensive and detailed overview of all exhibitors. The toy industry focuses on toy safety. International test institutes present their services and test methods in the Testing & Inspecting Center.

The Toy Museum presents four floors of toys dating from the ancient world to the present day. The exhibition on “Marvels of Technology – 100 Years of Schuco Toys” transports visitors back to the years of the economic miracle, when the company was Europe’s biggest toy producer.
