    Patrons Horst Seehofer, Minister-President of the Free State of Bavaria, and Dr. Ulrich Maly, Lord Mayor of Nuremberg, officially open Spielwarenmesse 2014. Désirée Duray hosts the evening and the ceremonial presentation of the ToyAward to the most creative play ideas in four categories.

ToyInnovation – the innovation programme at Spielwarenmesse

  • TrendGallery, hall 3A
    The TrendGallery in hall 3A combines new products and industry know-how for the first time in one place in 2014. According to the jury of experts, the following trends will make the running this year: Fit4Life, Retromania, Mini is King and TechToys. To give visitors a better understanding of these innovations, Spielwarenmesse offers daily trend presentations (Wednesday-Sunday), guided tours for visitors (Wednesday-Sunday, 14:00-14:45) and live actions (10:00-12:00).   • ToyAward, hall 3A, stand D-13/E-14
    A jury of experts selects the most creative ideas from four categories to give traders guidance on the industry’s latest new products. The ToyAward is presented to the winners of all categories.

ToyNetwork – where the toy network meets

  • GamesCafé, hall 10.0, stand B-05
    Many game designers present their newest game ideas personally and develop new concepts with you. The GamesCafé is a cooperation between the German Games Archive in Nuremberg, the Game Designer Association (SAZ) and Spielwarenmesse eG.
  • New Exhibitor Center, hall 3A
    The New Exhibitor Center enables visitors to make direct contact with more than 58 new exhibitors from 27 countries. The stands and entries of all new exhibitors at Spielwarenmesse 2014 are marked “New” in the online catalogue.
  • Young Innovative Companies, hall 3A
    23 start-ups present “Innovations made in Germany” in the Young Innovative Companies Pavilion. The project is supported by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi).
  • International country pavilions, in various halls
    14 country pavilions make it easier to specifically search for the products of individual national markets. The International Pavilion Guide also provides a comprehensive and detailed overview of all exhibitors.   • World of Toys, Mitte entrance
    The World of Toys information stand provides a complete overview of the international fair programme organized by Spielwarenmesse eG. Interested exhibitors can arrange appointments in advance to discuss the fairs in Hong Kong, Istanbul, Moscow and Mumbai. Information also at: www.world-of-toys.org
  • Testing & Inspecting Center, hall 11.1
    The toy industry focuses on toy safety. To make sure products are safe and of high quality as well as fun to play with, international test institutes present their services and test methods in the Testing & Inspecting Center.

    Spielwarenmesse eG and the Business Initiative Group provide information about the growing ToyCity programme, because the enthusiasm for playing is spreading to more and more event locations in the city centre.
  • 27th Nuremberg Games Festival, 31.1-4.2.2014

    A games centre with more than 800 board and card games, workshops, new product tests and the Long Night of Games invite visitors to play.

    The German Games Archive Nuremberg offers guided tours for the Games Festival. These take place at 16:00 on Saturday, 1.2.2014, and at 17:00 on Monday, 3.2.2014. The meeting place is the showcase in Eckstein.
  • Playing fun with game designers
