The ToyAward times four – Spielwarenmesse 2015 winners announced

  • Coveted prize awarded at the Spielwarenmesse opening ceremony
  • Of rolling rattles, 2-in-1 scooters, trainable dinosaurs and the pleasure of flying

"The winner takes it all" – at this year's Spielwarenmesse, four winners have won the prestigious ToyAward. That's four causes for celebration, because these companies beat 601 products from 318 exhibitors. The award is a special acknowledgment within the global toy industry, which is gathering together at this specialist trade fair in Nuremberg from 28 January to 2 February 2015. What do all the winners have in common? Top marks for quality, creativity, safety and educational benefits. The following products take top place on the winners' podium in their respective categories this year:

Baby&Infant category (0-2 years of age)
Roll Around Rattles/ Skip Hop

A pleasant material, pretty colours and shapes and lots of ways to hold the Roll Around Rattles – you just have to reach out and grab them. And if they drop onto the floor, they jump back, but very quietly, which is a real treat for the parents. The Roll Around Rattles help with the motor development of the little ones and foster their haptic abilities.
PreSchool category (3-5 years of age)
Highwayfreak/ Scoot & Ride
A scooter and push bike in one – that's what parents and children alike wish for. The Scoot & Ride Highwayfreak combines both vehicles. The simple but stable conversion mechanism makes it possible to switch between the push bike and the more sophisticated scooter function with just one hand. Its robust construction and functional design are coupled with a beautiful feel and high-quality manufacturing.

SchoolKids category (6-10 years of age)
Zoomer DINO/ Spin Master International
A dinosaur as a playmate is the dream of many small but avid dinosaur fans. Zoomer DINO makes this dream come true, because it can be moved by remote control or by hand gestures; it can be cuddly or – just like a dinosaur – be very wild. When it's switched on, it straightens up and balances itself out on its wheels.

Teenager&Family category (as of 11 years of age)
Hobbyzone Sport Cub SAFE/ Horizon Hobby

The Hobbyzone Sports Cub SAFE from Horizon Hobby is an easy introduction to the world of model aeroplanes for inexperienced pilots and toy retailers: beginners can effortlessly fly the aircraft through the air in safe mode and slowly gain experience as a pilot of the skies. And should this model later experience turbulence in solo flight mode, just a quick press of the panic button is enough to activate the safe mode so that the owner of the model regains control of it at any flight attitude.

The ToyAward winners are displayed in the middle of the TrendGallery in Hall 3A. Here is where both fans of technology and traditionalists will find their favourites. The diversity of the winners reflects the enthralling diversity of the toy industry, a characteristic that is shared by all the other trend products and innovations on display, as well as by all product groups.
