Wednesday to Sunday!
31 Jan – 4 Feb 2018
Playing is becoming increasingly greener. More and more toy manufacturers are
pursuing environmentally compatible paths. They are setting up ecological
production lines or strengthening children’s environmental awareness through
play themes linked with nature. The Spielwarenmesse International Toy Fair
Nürnberg will give another boost to the toy industry’s green evolution in 2011,
when the fair team presents many approaches to sustainable practice for
traders and manufacturers under the motto of “Toys go green” from February,
The name of the action area characterizes the environmentally aware
movement that is just picking up speed in the toy industry. The coming
International Toy Fair focuses on sustainability. The green oasis will accordingly
occupy a key position in the newly built central entrance area (Eingang Mitte).
Theme islands will take up various aspects of toys going green: How can the
stages of the value creation chain such as material selection, packaging,
transport and logistics be made more environment-friendly? What do the
various labels stand for and how can manufacturers communicate
environmental friendliness together with the product.
Spielwarenmesse eG will present many ideas to encourage the toy professionals
to run their business operations in a more sustainable way. Toy manufacturers
already making products complying with ecological aspects or acting in line
with social standards will supplement the action area with best practice
examples. Traders can gather ideas on environmentally compatible product
presentations in the green area of the central entrance and at the same time
adjust to the customers’ growing interest in sustainable products.
Spielwarenmesse eG will also make it clear on the presentation area that green
development will accompany the toy industry in the coming years.
