Spielwarenmesse eG obtains well-known partners for Toys go green - everything worth knowing about sustainable toys at www.toysgogreen.com
The future is green! The toy industry is also stepping up its sustainable activities and Spielwarenmesse eG is helping to push this development with its fair motto Toys go green. On the one hand it is setting up the information website www.toysgogreen.com for the toy industry and on the other is initiating an action area for industry and trade at the Spielwarenmesse International Toy Fair Nürnberg from 3-8 February 2011. The focus there is on ecological materials and on social standards and environment-friendly production processes, as shown by many examples of manufacturers.
Spielwarenmesse eG deals with the issue of sustainability in the toy world in a vivid way on its Internet site at www.toysgogreen.com. The information offered is arranged in various areas: First Spielwarenmesse eG describes how it is tackling the implementation of Toys go green before, during and after the fair. Second the exhibitors involved present their products in virtual form before the fair starts in the Toys go green action area, where visitors can find out what makes these products green. In the experts’ area, insiders think out of the box, which gives toy professionals the opportunity to obtain interesting and useful knowledge from other sectors and many ideas and tips on ecology and environmental awareness.
In addition, Spielwarenmesse eG has commissioned an empirical study to research into the importance of sustainability for consumers and provide manufacturers and traders with the results. Prof. Dr. Nicole Koschate from the GfK Chair of Marketing Intelligence at the Friedrich Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg examines purchasing behaviour for sustainable toys. The results are presented at the main press conference on 27 January 2011 and at the Toy Business Forum on 5 February 2011.
The action area at the central entrance will be the main contact point for the varied spectrum of topics. The TÜV Rheinland Group as official international partner is supporting the project with its specialist knowledge of sustainability. Traders and manufacturers also profit from the group’s expertise during the fair, as the TÜV Rheinland specialists are available to provide extensive advice on ecological aspects and environmentally compatible standards.
The varied programme at the International Toy Fair 2011 marks the start of Spielwarenmesse eG’s sustainability activities, which the fair organizer intends to continue to support a green future for the toy industry.
