Top Gun fans waited a whole 34 years to see Tom Cruise, a.k.a. Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell, take off again in the sequel in the summer of 2020. “Top Gun: Maverick” is his chance to shoot through the clouds again; this time in an F/A-18E Super Hornet. The 1:48-scale carrier-based US Navy fighter is fitted with a detailed cockpit and landing gear and there is comprehensive weaponry among the total of 53 pieces. In the film, Maverick is the only navy pilot permitted to bear 3 ‘kill’ marks on his jet - a real eye-catcher itself in its schwarz and bright blue livery. Of course, the kit also includes decals like in the film, and at Level 5 it’s a perfect challenge for experienced modelmakers. In the original 1980s film Tom Cruise took to the skies in the spectacular F-14 A Tomcat ‘Top Gun’. The 1:48-scale 2-seater version is fitted with a detailed cockpit and landing gear. It boasts an expansive arsenal and, as with the original, the wings swing in and out. As an officially licensed replica the model comes with stylish Top Gun packaging and authentic film decals no fan of this cult film will want to miss. As a Level 4 kit, the 96-piece F-14 A Tomcat ‘Top Gun’ is suitable for advanced model builders. Those who can’t decide which plane to choose, don’t need to! The 1:72-scale Top Gun Movie Set includes both jets with all the essential paints, glue and brushes.
The lightening-fast German air force Tornado ASSTA 3.1. fears no comparisons. The latest ASSTA 3.1 (Avionics System Software Tornado in Ada) software updates have ensured the Tornado is the most modern multi-purpose fighter jet in the service of the German Luftwaffe today. Like the original, the Revell model has also been ASSTA 3.1 updated. It has new cockpit telemetry for the weapons system officer, tail sensors and a target pod. The Level 5, 298-piece Tornado kit provides a 34cm, 1:48-scale model aimed at experienced model builders.
Unveiled at the Geneva Autosalon in 1961, the Jaguar E-Typ Coupé dream car accelerated from 0 – 100 km/h in just 7 seconds, making it one of the fastest road racers of the day. It couldn’t accelerate up to mach 1, but none other than Enzo Ferrari admitted it was the most beautiful automobile to have ever been built. At a top speed of 241 km/h the Jaguar with the unmistakable long-drawn hood even provided serious competition on closed racing circuits. The 1:24-scale model features rotatable wheels and a faithfully replicated engine. This genuine Level 3 collector’s item is suitable for all kinds of leisurely model makers.
The VW T1 Camper has earned its ‘legend’ status among campers. The vehicle constructors at Westfalia soon recognized its potential and in 1950 marketed the T1 with an accessory camping box. In the 1960s it was given a permanent rebuild and was sold as a camping van. From then on there was no holding the VW Camper back. Revell has now revived this automobile leisure time classic as a 1:24-scale replica with a wide range of accessories. The VW T1 Camper has moving doors, rotatable wheels and a comprehensive array of camping equipment. As required, the pop-up roof can be built to remain open or closed. The Level 5 VW T1 Camper kit is particularly well-suited to ambitious and experienced model builders.
