Global Toy Conference sharpens the eye for future prospects

If you know what's coming, you know what to do. The 3rd Global Toy Conference in Nuremberg prepares fair visitors for future developments, because the experienced experts at this international conference provide a detailed insight into the key theme of "Tomorrow’s Toy Industry – Opportunities and Challenges". In various presentations, well-known speakers from the toy and consumer goods industries examine consumers’ new habits and trends in the marketing segment. The Global Toy Conference takes place on 6.2.2012 parallel to the Spielwarenmesse International Toy Fair Nürnberg. Participants can choose from various modules to arrange their own individual programme from 9.30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Global Toy Conference focuses on the following topics:
- Tomorrow's Consumer: What is Important for Him? How Does he Behave?
- Prospects for the Toy Trade: Where are the Blind Alleys? What are the - Chances of Success?
- Marketing 3.0: The Major Trends for Brand Building and Brand Care
- Toy Safety: The Right Preparation for Coming Developments

Prof. Peter Wippermann opens the Global Toy Conference as keynote speaker on the topic of "Edutainment – The Future Starts in the Kid’s Room". The trend researcher from Hamburg provides an insight into the edutainment phenomenon. "Nowadays, children grow up with computers, smartphones and Internet. They play with electronic media and often use them for learning too. The media future starts in the kid’s room, because today’s digital natives will merge tomorrow's offline and online world to an unimaginable extent," says Prof. Wippermann.

What other changes the toy industry must be prepared for are shown by Reyne Rice. The toy trend expert from New York explains in which direction the toys and games scene will develop in the future.

If retailers and manufacturers are to keep pace with developments, they must firmly fix their brands in the consumers' minds. How they can use marketing campaigns for this and approach consumers over the right channels is explained by three speakers at the Global Toy Conference.

The new EU Toy Safety Directive that came into force in July 2011 also plays a major role at the conference. Representatives from the European Commission answer questions to clear up uncertainties concerning the new regulations.
