Nuremberg bars demonstrate their creativity in the ToyCocktail Competition for the Toy Fair 2012

Adrian Schulz, die rote Bar, mixed the most sensational cocktail in the ToyCocktail Competition for the Toy Fair 2012. He impressed the technique and test panel of jurors from Munich, Frankfurt and Hamburg come at the special invitation of Barkommune Nürnberg. The competition was held in the west end lounge / Bahama Bar & Restaurant in Nuremberg. The winning recipe is composed of fresh lime juice, white cane sugar, Franconian pear Schnapps, orange and elderflower liqueur. The barkeeper scored extremely well in the taste and performance categories, beating Jan Schönherr, Gelbes Haus (2nd place), and Franz Schmidauer, Bar Nürnberg (3rd place).

The International Toy Fair Nürnberg is a world that appeals to all the senses, including the taste buds. To the delight of fair guests and nightlife lovers, a joint cooperation between Spielwarenmesse eG and Barkommune Nürnberg nominated the ToyCocktail. Competing for the title 17 Nuremberg barkeepers demonstrated their creativity in mixing cocktails. The recipes they entered for the ToyCocktail had to fulfil specific criteria: use of a maximum of five ingredients, and a maximum quantity of 7 cl. Another proviso was that the name be appropriate to the world of toys. The participating bars will be serving the ToyCocktail from 1 to 6 February 2012: Atelier in the Le Méridien Grand Hotel, Bar Treff and Restaurant ARVE im Arvena Park Hotel, Bar Nürnberg, Coal Club, Die rote Bar, Gelbes Haus, Kontiki, Lorenz, s'blödels in the Grünen Baum, Schleuder, Seon, Skybar in Admiral Filmpalast, Tinto - tapas y vino, ZEIT & RAUM. Spielwarenmesse eG and Barkommune Nürnberg organised the ToyCocktail Competition as part of the City Marketing Initiative "Enjoy Toy Fair City – Nürnberg spielt mit (Nuremberg joins in the fun)!". In doing so, it links Nuremberg's nightlife with the Toy Fair in an enjoyable fashion.

The ToyCocktail is one of Spielwarenmesse eG's annual contributions to the Enjoy Toy Fair City-Nürnberg spielt mit! Initiative. Inaugurated on the occasion of the Toy Fair 2005 the city marketing programme is a co-operation between Spielwarenmesse eG and the Business Initiative Group. Its members include Middle Franconia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Erlebnis Nürnberg, Bavarian Hotel and Restaurants Association, Bavarian Retail Federation, Nuremberg Convention and Tourist Office and the City of Nuremberg.
