Those who want to maintain their position permanently and successfully must face change at an early stage. The manufacturers and retailers who examined the risks and opportunities of the future at the 3rd Global Toy Conference on 6.2.2012 know this too, because the international conference held parallel to the Spielwarenmesse International Toy Fair Nürnberg 2012 illustrated future developments in the world of toys. Experienced experts examined various aspects based on the four modules of "Tomorrow’s Consumer", "Prospects for the Toy Trade", "Marketing 3.0" and "Toy Safety".
The practical presentations by the speakers gave the some 200 international participants at the Global Toy Conference valuable tips for successful business in the future. For example, Richard Saeger, owner of the Babushkas store in Melbourne, Australia, valued the knowledge obtained at the conference, especially on the use of social media in everyday business. The American Jay Peterson from Microscale Industries, who travelled to the conference from Fountain Valley, California, confirmed: "Today’s children live in a completely different world." The increasing digitalization is a decisive development on the toy and games scene. Trend expert Reyne Rice from New York illustrated this perspective in her presentation on "Tech Trends for iKids to iTeens".
The experts at the lectern explained complex issues like accurate marketing of the future or toy safety and answered many questions. Karl Simon from the test laboratory of pkm electronic GmbH in Frontenhausen attended the conference to prepare for coming developments in toy safety: "I came here for the Global Toy Conference. Particularly the presentation on the requirements for risk analysis was very informative."
The presentations at the Global Toy Conference will be available from March onwards as webcasts on www.yourtoycom.com, the business community for professionals from the global toy industry. The Global Toy Conference 2012 was organized by Spielwarenmesse eG in cooperation with DVSI (German Association of the Toy Industry) and TIE (Toy Industries of Europe) and supported by Bureau Veritas, Intertek and DAMCO as sponsors. The topics for the 4th Global Toy Conference during the International Toy Fair 2013 will be announced by not later than November at www.globaltoyconference.de.
