Baby & Infant Articles in focus at the Spielwarenmesse 2018

  • Reputed exhibitors present attractive complementary ranges
  • Special Area to be continued following successful debut

The Spielwarenmesse has the right products for every trade buyer and is divided into separate product groups for easier navigation. Baby & Infant Articles are increasingly edging onto the radar of many retailers. The approaching event, taking place at Nuremberg’s Exhibition Centre from 31 January to 4 February 2018, is showcasing a diverse selection of toys for babies and toddlers and industry-related ranges right across the fair. Two halls and a Special Area, featuring well-known exhibitors, will serve as the central hub for this product segment.

International inspiration
More than 400 companies are showing their products for babies and infants at the Spielwarenmesse 2018. The majority of suppliers from this segment are located in Hall 2 and part of Hall 3. Sauthon Industries from France, Mora Ferre e Hijos Interbaby from Spain and the German company Reisenthel, for example, are appearing in Nuremberg for the first time. After a period of absence, Skip Hop (USA), Bieco Spielwaren (Germany) and others are returning in 2018. Following a four-year break, founding member Steiff joined the Spielwarenmesse again in 2017. Simone Pürckhauer, Head of PR, commented: “We’re delighted to be part of the Spielwarenmesse again. The segment devoted to baby and infant articles has clearly gained in importance and we really value the high quality of the international trade buyers. The world’s leading toy fair was and still is the industry meeting place – which is why we’re so pleased to be back again next year.”

Diversity of products
The Special Area for Baby & Infant Articles between Halls 2 and 3 provides a valuable overview of this extensive product portfolio. Following its successful launch at the last Spielwarenmesse, the next special event promises to give retailers and buyers plenty of inspiration for incorporating appealing side ranges that effectively complement their own individual business models. The Area encompasses Baby Toys, Baby Textile, Travel Systems, Care & Food and Home & Safety. Companies wishing to exhibit in this second location, completely free of charge, can now register directly online for the first time at www.spielwarenmesse.de/special/special-area-baby-and-infant-articles/. Online bookings opened on 1 September.

Comprehensive Guide

As a complement to the Special Area, a multi-page brochure will be made available to visitors. It highlights the diversity of products for babies and infants that are scattered around the fair beyond the Special Area. The exhibitors are listed both in alphabetical order and by hall, enabling visitors to plan the shortest possible routes. Ernst Kick, CEO of Spielwarenmesse eG, states: “Our services and offering clearly reflect the growing relevance of the product range, specialist group interest and product ratings in the baby and infant segment.”
