Trade visitors to the Spielwarenmesse 2019 benefit from extended services

  • Exclusive experiences during the world’s leading toy fair
  • New service offensive as part of the ToyCity Programme

In its role as an international business hub, the Spielwarenmesse is welcoming reputed retailers and buyers to Nuremberg’s Exhibition Centre from 30 January to 3 February 2019. An extensive spectrum of services ensures that visitors have a positive experience both before and during the 70th edition of the world’s leading toy fair.

Perfect preparation
With the help of various online services, trade buyers can already start planning their stay in Nuremberg well before the fair opens its doors. The online catalogue which features all the exhibitors and brands represented at the international trade fair, is a valuable resource and can be found online at www.spielwarenmesse.de/en/online-catalogue. The interactive hall plan gives an overview of the exhibition centre and the location of the different product groups. These planning tools as well as other useful features are also available to trade visitors on the free Spielwarenmesse App. The Partner Hotel Programme, on the other hand, helps visitors to organise their accommodation. In addition, admission tickets to the Spielwarenmesse can be used on all days of the event as free, 2nd class travel passes to and from the fair. They are valid in zones 100/200 (Nuremberg, Fürth, Stein) of the local public transport network (VGN).

Added value at the fair
Premium, on-site services add to the quality of an eventful stay at the fair. Hall 3A, featuring the TrendGallery, the New Exhibitor Center and the sponsorship scheme for Young German Companies, is an impressive source of inspiration for trade visitors. Moreover, the Toy Business Forum provides attendees with valuable knowledge and expertise. The activity areas Showtime and Tech2Play as well as the special areas Baby and Infant Articles and Toys meet Books invite visitors to make exciting discoveries. The Voucher Booklet entitles attendees to exclusive offers at the stands of more than 100 exhibitors. In addition, five quiet zones or VisitorLounges will be dotted around the exhibition centre for the first time, equipped with free water dispensers and charging stations. On Thursday, the Spielwarenmesse is hosting the ToyFestival as a major programme highlight. This casual get-together expects to welcome more than 3,000 guests. On Saturday, visitors can enjoy a spectacular fireworks display over a mug of free mulled wine. The on-site services are rounded off by a wide variety of catering options.

ToyCity Programme after hours
The ToyCity event programme gives international retailers and buyers a unique opportunity to explore Nuremberg, the city of toys, and to enjoy generous visitor benefits. The colourful supporting programme includes, for example, a guided city tour, the special exhibition “In Nuremberg, Play’s the Thing!”, organised by the Toy Museum, and the ToyCocktail, which is served at nine bars around the town. ToyCity maps, featuring all the items on the programme, are available from the Info Points at the exhibition centre and online at www.spielwarenmesse.de/en/nuremberg. The ToyCity initiative is also launching a service offensive, in which 19 local retail partners will be offering a variety of different services. Selected stores are providing delivery services, surprise gifts and much more to all visitors with a valid exhibition ticket. ToyCity is organised by Spielwarenmesse eG and its partners: IHK Nürnberg für Mittelfranken, Stadt Nürnberg, Erlebnis Nürnberg e.V., Congress- und Tourismus-Zentrale and Handelsverband Bayern e.V.

Spielwarenmesse®, the leading international fair for toys, hobbies and leisure, is organised by the fair and marketing services provider Spielwarenmesse eG. The trade fair creates a comprehensive communication and ordering platform for more than 2,900 national and international manufacturers. The presentation of new products and the extensive industry overview provide a valuable pool of information for annual market orientation for 71,000 buyers and toy traders from over 125 nations.
