Spielwarenmesse reveals new features for the PressPreview

  • Showcasing the three trends and the ToyAward nominees
  • Exclusive product presentations at Speed Interviews with exhibitors

The PressPreview at the Spielwarenmesse (30 January to 3 February 2019) gives international journalists, bloggers and top buyers the opportunity to be among the first to view and experience many product premieres and highlights. The event which traditionally takes place at NCC Ost the day before the trade fair officially opens, is organised by Spielwarenmesse eG who has several new features in store.

On Tuesday, 29 January 2019, the PressPreview starts at 8.55 am with an entertaining musical spectacle in the Glass Gallery by the Press Center. Immediately after, the participating firms will all meet on the same floor for a group photo in front of the photo wall together with Ernst Kick, CEO Spielwarenmesse eG. Back at their stands, the exhibitors will then present their innovative products for maximum media effect. The show is supported by a variety of different promotions for trying out products, as well as by child models, celebrities and walking acts.

The big players in the German toy industry such as Bruder, Fischertechnik, Kosmos, Ravensburger, Schmidt Spiele, Sieper and Simba Dickie Group, are turning out in force alongside their reputed international counterparts (such as Hape, Silverlit, Stadlbauer) and numerous start-ups. Nickelodeon and Jazwares are joining forces with TV chef Alexander Herrmann, actor Christian Tramitz and Youtuber Freshtorge to announce the launch in Germany, Austria and Switzerland of “Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”. In addition, the Spielwarenmesse is bringing to life the three latest trends – “Ready, Steady, Play!”, “The WOW Effect” and “Toys 4 Kidults” – with the help of corresponding products. Other appealing film and photo motifs include the nominees for the ToyAwards in five categories, which are edging into the spotlight of the PressPreview for the first time.

The all-new Speed Interviews are among the new services at the PressPreview. In short time slots, company owners and marketing directors can present their innovations to media representatives who are new to the industry. During the PressPreview, separate rooms will be set aside for these exclusive presentations and their selected participants. Journalists and bloggers interested in taking part are requested to register in advance of the event at presse@spielwarenmesse.de.
