Funko Names Josh Simon as New CEO to Drive Global Growth
Funko, Inc., the renowned pop culture lifestyle brand, has appointed Josh Simon as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective September 1, 2025. Simon, who also joins the Board of Directors, brings a wealth of experience from leading roles at Netflix, Nike, and The Walt Disney Company. He succeeds interim CEO Mike Lunsford.
Simon’s background includes building Netflix’s global consumer products division, launching merchandise for hit series like Stranger Things and Squid Game, and overseeing live experiences in over 300 cities. At Nike, he served as Vice President and Head of Global Strategy, and previously held key roles in film production and corporate strategy at Disney.
Charles Denson, Chairman of Funko’s Board, praised Simon’s operational, licensing, and strategic expertise, highlighting his fit for Funko’s next phase of growth. Simon expressed excitement about expanding Funko’s reach and deepening connections with fans worldwide.
With this leadership change, Funko aims to leverage Simon’s extensive industry knowledge to capitalize on new opportunities in the evolving pop culture and collectibles market.
