To celebrate the iconic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ 35th anniversary, Geocaching HQ has teamed up with Nickelodeon’s animated series Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to release 4,000 limited-edition Raph, Leo, Mikey, and Donnie geocaching trackable game pieces across the globe.
Anyone can register to receive a Turtles trackable at geocaching.com/TMNT from September 3-10, 2019. Trackables will also be available at select geocaching events held in twelve cities around the world: Berlin, Germany; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Houma, Louisiana, USA; London, United Kingdom; Louisville, Kentucky, USA; Madrid, Spain; Memphis, Tennessee, USA; Mexico City, Mexico; Milan, Italy; New York, New York, USA; Paris; France; and São Paulo, Brazil.
Each game piece will travel through the hands of geocachers, discovering new hidden locations and engaging with other players worldwide. Geocachers are encouraged to find all four Turtles and share photos on social using #TMNTcache and tag @TMNT.
“We are beyond excited to be celebrating the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with an incredible global geocaching promotion,” said Bryan Roth, Geocaching HQ Co-Founder and President. “Geocachers around the world are huge fans of the Turtles and we can’t wait to see them engage with Raph, Leo, Mikey, and Donnie trackable game pieces as they travel the globe in search of adventure.”
In addition, a specially curated virtual scavenger hunt experience will launch in New York this October via the Geocaching Adventure Lab app, which will guide players to unique Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles locations throughout New York City.
Geocaching is a family-friendly global treasure-hunting game with more than 3.1 million containers (geocaches) of varying shapes, sizes and difficulty levels, hidden in 191 countries by more than 7 million Geocaching community members. Players, known as “Geocachers,” can find and log geocaches using the Geocaching app or GPS device. Millions of trackable game pieces travel among geocaches annually through the hands of Geocaches. The Geocaching and Adventure Lab apps are available on Google Play and the App Store.
