Travelling to Spielwarenmesse

Your journey to the Spielwarenmesse is an important part of your visit to the fair. We have put together some useful tips and information to help you plan ahead.

Nuremberg Exhibition Centre has excellent transport links to the nearby motorways, Nuremberg’s main train station and its international airport. There is also ample parking on site.

Getting to Spielwarenmesse

 

Using public transport

The U1 underground line brings you from the main train station directly to the exhibition centre’s main entrance (Eingang Mitte). The journey from Nuremberg’s main station to the threshold of the Spielwarenmesse takes around 9 minutes.

The U2 underground line (Direction Röthenbach) brings you from the airport to the main train station. The U1 underground line (Direction Langwasser Süd) then takes you from the main station directly to the exhibition centre’s main entrance (Eingang Mitte). Including the change at the main station, this journey takes around 25-30 minutes.

Arrival by train 

The underground line U1 takes you from the main station directly to the central entrance of NürnbergMesse. From Nuremberg central station, it takes about 9 minutes to reach the gates of Spielwarenmesse.

Arrival by long-distance bus

Nuremberg’s central bus station, or ZOB for short, is located within walking distance of the main train station. The walk between the two sites takes approximately 6 minutes. The U1 underground line brings you from the main train station directly to the main entrance (Eingang Mitte) of NürnbergMesse. Including the walk to the train station, you will be on site within 20 - 25 minutes.

From the airport to the exhibition centre

From Albrecht Dürer Airport in Nuremberg, your taxi will take you straight to the main entrance (Eingang Mitte) or entrance “Eingang Ost”. 

The U2 underground line brings you from the airport to the main train station. The U1 underground line brings you from the main train station directly to the exhibition centre’s main entrance (Eingang Mitte). Including the change at the main train station, you will be on site within 25-30 minutes. 

Are you landing at Munich Airport?

Spielwarenmesse Bus
For people traveling by air to Spielwarenmesse 2026, we are offering a special service from Sunday, 25 January to Saturday, 31 January 2026: Exclusive Spielwarenmesse buses will travel from Munich Airport to the Nuremberg Exhibition Center and back several times a day.

Direct train (Regional Express)
The Regional Express RE 22 connects Munich Airport directly with Nuremberg every two hours via Regensburg and Landshut. The journey takes approximately two and a half hours.

Travelling by car

Nuremberg Exhibition Centre is a central traffic hub and is extremely well connected to the European motorway network, the main train station, and Nuremberg’s international airport. There is ample parking at the exhibition centre. 

  • Motorways: A3, A6, A9 and A73
  • Clear signage from all directions and well-developed approach roads to the exhibition centre (Messe)
  • Stress-free navigation through Europe’s leading traffic and parking management system 
  • Address for your satnav: Karl-Schönleben-Straße or point of interest (POI) Messe or Messezentrum.

Parking facilities at the Exhibition Center Nuremberg

A total of around 13,500 parking spaces are available in various areas of the exhibition grounds. You can find detailed information on the locations of the parking spaces on our exhibition grounds map or use the excellent dynamic traffic guidance system (German only) around the exhibition center.

Are you on the road with an electric car? 

At the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg, 19 charging stations with two charging points (AC) each are currently available for charging e-vehicles in five areas. In addition, the innovative AUDI Charging Hub with its reservable fast charging points (DC) extends the possibilities for charging your electric vehicle.

Arrival by cab

Cabs are available at the exhibition center as well as at the airport or main station.

A ride from Nuremberg Central Station to the Spielwarenmesse takes about 10-15 minutes and costs about 25 Euros.

A ride from the airport to the exhibition center costs about 40 euros and takes about 30 minutes.
