Opening up attractive markets with Kids India in Mumbai

The Indian toy market is one of the fastest growing sales markets in the world. Interested companies looking to make initial contacts or expand existing business relationships in this exciting environment have the opportunity to do so at Kids India. At the last edition, more than 120 exhibitors presented their products. This year, India's most important international B2B trade fair for toys, children's and sporting goods will be held in Mumbai from August 31 to September 2. It is again organized by Spielwarenmesse India Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of Spielwarenmesse eG, and the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce - with the support of the leading industry associations Sports Goods Export Promotion Council (SGEPC) and The All India Toy Manufacturers' Association (TAITMA).

Exhibitor registration started

Kids India offers a broad portfolio in two halls - from dolls to soft toys, wooden toys, stationery, educational toys, electronic toys, model trains and model-making articles, children's and toddler products to sports, leisure and outdoor products. It is thus the right platform for both industry giants and interested startups. In addition to attractive seminars and interactive panel discussions, exhibitors will have the opportunity to talk to international buyers from retail and wholesale chains. Re-launching in 2022 after a two-year pandemic-related hiatus, the event attracted 5,476 trade visitors from 33 countries to the ultra-modern Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. Registration for Kids India is now open for interested companies at www.kidsindia.co.in/exhibitor-registration. The first established companies have already confirmed their participation. Others will follow, as Christian Ulrich, Spokesman of the Board of Spielwarenmesse eG, confirms: "The response has been positive throughout and demand is already very high. We expect the number of exhibitors to increase further compared to last year, which was already very successful."

Growing market

The toy industry in India reports excellent economic forecasts: according to Germany Trade & Invest, it has the potential to grow to three billion dollars by next year. Sales in the toy trade are expected to increase by up to 15 percent - around ten percentage points more than the global average. This is due to the demographic structure in India, with a very high proportion of young people, and a growing middle class with rising incomes and consumer spending. Consumers attach great importance to quality and sustainability. In addition, well-known brands are just as much in demand as new products and trends.
