Success for Toys Milano & Bay-B

The number of visitors to Toys Milano & Bay-B increased by 25 percent and the number of exhibiting companies by 14 percent. The area occupied by the 235 brands exhibited amounted to over 12 thousand square meters. With this remarkable performance, Toys Milano & Bay-B closed its 6th edition.

Toys and baby-toddler items, but also stationery, carnival, festive and party items were the focus of the event.

On April 16 and 17, 3,830 buyers, retailers, sales representatives and opinion leaders from all over Europe, led by Italy, visited the MiCo alliance in fieramilanocity. In this dynamic context, it is the infant sector with the Bay-B division that has increased its presence at the fair the most, by a remarkable 53% compared to the previous edition. These figures are also confirmed by the latest market data analyzed during the interesting workshops and presentations: The toddler sector ended 2022 on a positive note, with a 3.5 percent increase (source: GfK), while the toy market had an excellent first quarter of 2023, with a remarkable 4 percent increase (source: Circana), which bodes well for Christmas sales.

"In addition to business-oriented meetings that are crucial for sales," said Maurizio Cutrino, director of the Salone Internazionale del Giocattolo and Assogiocattoli, "the first Gioco per Sempre Awards ceremony also took place during Toys Milano & Bay-B: a recognition dedicated to companies that have excelled in creativity and efficiency throughout the year." No less than 70 companies operating in the Italian games and toys market were nominated. They were determined by a jury of industry experts who cast their votes and established the 14 winners - 11 categories plus 3 special prizes - of the Gioco per Sempre Awards 2023.

Toys Milano & Bay-B was also the occasion to announce the entry of Assogiocattoli to the charity project Golden Links: ties are golden, the solidarity initiative of Intesa Sanpaolo, realized in collaboration with Caritas Italiana and promoting the distribution of essential goods, including toys, to families and people living in poverty. The first concrete gesture was made by the nearly 160 exhibitors, who donated part of the products on display at the end of the event.

The 7th edition of Toys Milano & Bay-B will take place from May 12 to 13, 2024.
