Your Family Entertainment AG: Record result in fiscal year 2022
Munich-based Your Family Entertainment AG published its annual report for fiscal year 2022 at the end of April 2023.
Significant improvements were achieved in all key financial figures compared to the previous year. Revenues increased by around 35 percent from €3.1 million to €4.2 million, net income was €835k compared to €-79k in 2021, and adjusted EBITDA rose to €544k.
"Our company and our brands performed very well in 2022 - in particular, the agreements with our American shareholder, Genius Brands International, Inc. have enabled us to achieve strong growth and exceed our KPIs. For the current fiscal year, we therefore continue to see organic growth as well as healthy profitability," said Dr. Stefan Piëch, CEO of YFE.
YFE was able to conclude license agreements with partners such as Super RTL and ORF in 2022. In addition, YFE was also able to place its free TV station RiC TV on Deutsche Telekom's Magenta TV platform for the first time. New international customers were also acquired through corresponding agreements with, for example, TV3 Group in the Baltic countries and ZYNC in the USA. In total, YFE's programs and stations are now broadcast on 4 continents.
In addition to the positive business performance, YFE was able to fundamentally improve its balance sheet via capital measures in fiscal year 2022. As a result, YFE was able to completely reduce bank liabilities and increase available financial resources to approximately EUR 3.2 million. Likewise, the company was able to significantly increase its equity ratio from 46 percent to 85 percent.
