Ad Populum and McDonalds announce Brand Licensing partnership
Ad Populum has announced a new multi-year licensing agreement with McDonald's to create nostalgia-inspired collectibles through National Entertainment Collectibles Association (NECA), Kidrobot, and Department 56.
The collaboration will introduce a broad assortment of figures, plush, and display décor inspired by iconic McDonald’s characters like Grimace and Hamburglar, combining classic brand nostalgia with contemporary design and premium craftsmanship. NECA will produce highly detailed action figures, Kidrobot will offer stylized plush and collectible interpretations rooted in its bold design aesthetic, and Department 56 will launch a Village collection featuring intricately crafted display pieces that recreate McDonald’s recognizable architecture and characters.
The first products debuted at the New York Toy Fair 2026, with releases beginning in Q3 2026.
Joel Weinshanker, CEO of Ad Populum, said McDonald’s has long been part of popular culture and personal memories alike. He emphasized the emotional connection many fans have with the brand and expressed excitement about using the company’s storytelling expertise and creative strengths to reimagine the McDonald’s universe in fresh ways for collectors.
