Amazon ranked the world's most valuable retail brand
Once again, Amazon has been named the world's most valuable retail brand.
This was announced by the leading brand valuation consultancy, Brand Finance. According to the report, Amazon's brand value is $299.3 billion, which is more than twice the brand value of Walmart.
Since the start of the pandemic, Amazon's brand value has increased by 36% and is the world's most valuable brand across all sectors, according to Brand Finance's Global 500 2023 report.
"Amazon's sheer dominance of the retail sector - and beyond - cannot be ignored.
The brand's relentless pursuit of customer-centric innovation has not only changed the way we shop, but has challenged and overtaken traditional business models.
The retail giant must now strive to maintain its competitive advantage in the rapidly evolving landscape, especially as eyes are on the brand more than ever.", Richard Haigh, managing director of Brand Finance.
As part of its analysis, Brand Finance also evaluates brand attributes that contribute to the overall value of the brand.
This also includes how sustainable brands are perceived. For this purpose, over 150,000 consumers in 36 countries are surveyed annually and a
"Sustainability Perceptions Score" is determined. The calculation of the "Sustainability Perceptions Value" is based on this score.
Here, too, Amazon has the highest value of all brands at 19.9 billion US dollars.
As the world's largest purchaser of renewable energy, Amazon has committed to providing 100% renewable energy to all of its operations by 2025.
To achieve this goal, the brand has already announced more than 400 projects by January 2023.
