Anamalz returns to the UK with commotion eCommerce partnership

Australian wooden toy brand Anamalz is returning to the UK through a new partnership with Commotion, which has been appointed as the brand’s exclusive UK eCommerce partner.

Alternative to traditional plastic toys

From September 2026, Commotion will operate Anamalz’s official UK online store and oversee the full customer journey, from fulfilment to aftercare. Orders placed in the UK will be picked, packed, and shipped from Commotion’s facility in Tonbridge, Kent, reducing the distance that products previously travelled from Melbourne.

Founded by Louise Causon in 2006, Anamalz was developed as an alternative to traditional plastic toys. Its collectible animal figures combine wood with plush details and internal rope, allowing the characters to be bent and positioned in different poses for imaginative play. The brand made its international debut at the Nuremberg Toy Fair in 2007 and has since expanded into more than 30 markets.

The UK was among Anamalz’s biggest markets following its initial launch. However, the growing shift towards eCommerce presented challenges for the Australian company, as shipping distances, delivery times and costs made it increasingly difficult to maintain its presence in the market.

Support Anamalz’s return to the UK

The new partnership is intended to support Anamalz’s return to the UK by providing local fulfilment and customer service.

Louise Causon said the UK had been one of Anamalz’s earliest and largest markets and that the brand’s return had been a long time coming. She also highlighted the shared understanding between Anamalz and Commotion of the brand’s storytelling and imaginative qualities.

Further expansion into the retail market

For Commotion, the appointment represents a further expansion into the retail market. The company has more than 40 years of experience supplying educational toys and learning resources internationally, and is FSC certified, complementing Anamalz’s emphasis on responsibly sourced wood.

Commotion CEO James Shepherd said the company was pleased to become Anamalz’s exclusive UK eCommerce partner and would focus on delivering a strong customer experience while helping more families discover the brand’s creativity, quality and sustainability.

Each Anamalz figure comes with a downloadable guardian certificate and a lifetime guarantee, while products supplied in crate packaging also include a certificate of authenticity.

The Anamalz UK range will be available through the brand’s official UK online store from early September 2026.
