BBC Studios appoints newe as CEO of Brands and Licensing

BBC Studios has appointed Shelley Macintyre as CEO of Brands and Licensing following her tenure in the role on an interim basis. She will lead the development and global expansion of the company’s brand portfolio, including Bluey, Doctor Who and Top Gear, while continuing to oversee digital growth initiatives and licensing activities across consumer products, gaming, live events, publishing and music.

BBC Studios CEO Tom Fussell said Macintyre had demonstrated strong leadership as interim CEO and praised her strategic vision, commercial expertise and experience in building global brands. He said she is well positioned to lead the division through its next phase of growth and further strengthen the cultural and commercial impact of the company’s intellectual property.

Before joining BBC Studios, Macintyre held senior leadership positions at Unilever, The Coca-Cola Company and Suntory Global Spirits over a period of around 18 years. She was also named one of Marketing Week’s Top 100 Marketers of 2025.

Macintyre said she looks forward to working with BBC Studios’ teams and partners to further develop the company’s portfolio of globally recognised brands by building fan-focused franchises that connect with audiences across multiple touchpoints and create long-term value for the business and its partners.
