Buffalo Games Announces Market Exit and Patent Settlement Agreement with Sunny Days Entertainment
Buffalo Games announced a Market Exit and Patent Settlement Agreement with Sunny Days Entertainment—a leading South Carolina based toy company. In the Agreement, Sunny Days will exit the market for its previous SKETCH BUDDY product, in view of Buffalo Games asserting its newly acquired U.S. Patent No. 9,927,672. Buffalo Games received the '672 Patent as part of the acquisition of Boogie Board earlier this year from Kent Displays.
Buffalo Games has demonstrated its commitment to removing from the marketplace any product that infringes its exclusive patent rights in products containing certain LCD screens, particularly LCD writing tablets that use stylus pressure to make multicolored lines. Therefore, it is pleased to announce its market-exit agreement with Sunny Days Entertainment. Buffalo Games also recently filed a lawsuit for infringement of the '672 Patent in May 2025 in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York against SimplyTech Electronics, Inc. (Case No. 1:25-cv-04545-LJL).
Sunny Days has stated that it respects the intellectual property of third parties. Demonstrating this, Sunny Days agreed to cease and desist selling its SKETCH BUDDY product based on an assertion of the '672 Patent rights.
