Candy Land Café to launch in San Diego

A new Candy Land-themed pop-up café is set to open in downtown San Diego this summer, inspired by the classic Candy Land board game from Hasbro. The immersive dining experience, called Candy Land Café, is being created in partnership with Bucket Listers and will debut on 9 July for a limited-time run.

Interactive version of the Candy Land universe

The café will be located at Bayside Kitchen + Bar and will transform the venue into an interactive version of the Candy Land universe. Guests will be able to explore themed environments inspired by locations from the game, including Mr. Mint’s Peppermint Forest, King Kandy’s Castle and Jolly’s Gumdrop Mountains.

Oversized candy-themed installations and more

The experience will feature oversized candy-themed installations, photo opportunities, cookie decorating stations and a “Sweet Adventure Checklist” designed to guide visitors through the attraction. The menu will include colourful comfort-food items such as rainbow burgers, chocolate barbecue sliders, extravagant milkshakes and a shareable “Chocolate River” fondue experience, alongside themed cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks.

Bringing the Candy Land brand to life

According to Bucket Listers and Hasbro, the project aims to bring the Candy Land brand to life beyond the traditional board game format through an immersive, multi-sensory experience. San Diego was selected as the launch location for the first-ever Candy Land Café, partly due to the city’s strong summer tourism and entertainment activity surrounding San Diego Comic-Con.
