Care Bears and Starbucks launch first collection

Care Bears and Starbucks have partnered for the first time on a new collection called Cheers for Sharing. The collaboration launched this week and is available exclusively in Taiwan.

The collection

The collection features Tenderheart Bear, Cheer Bear, Grumpy Bear and Share Bear across a range of products, including drinkware, mystery boxes, tote bags, accessories and apparel. The characters are depicted as Starbucks employees, wearing the brand’s green aprons. The collection also includes color changing cold cups and socks featuring illustrations of the four Care Bears dressed as Starbucks partners. 

The products

Among the products are plush keychains featuring the four characters and a small Cheer Bear plush dressed as a barista. A limited edition purple Share Bear plush wearing a green apron is available exclusively at Starbucks Reserve Dream Plaza Taipei. Only 200 numbered pieces of the collectible have been produced. 

Creating emotional connections

Simon Philips, Executive Vice President of Character Brands at Authentic, said the collaboration brings together two brands that create emotional connections with consumers. He added that the partnership in Taiwan was a natural fit and that the company was looking forward to seeing how fans respond to the collection.
