Care Bears: expanding licensing activations ahead of 45th anniversary

Cloudco Entertainment is continuing to expand the global presence of Care Bears ahead of the brand’s 45th anniversary in 2027. The company is strengthening the franchise through new licensing partnerships, retail collaborations, cultural activations, and location-based experiences designed to connect with both longtime fans and younger audiences. 

Collaborations with major retail and fashion brands

Recent initiatives include collaborations with major retail and fashion brands such as Uniqlo, Benetton, Zara, and Pop Mart. The licensing programme has also expanded into categories including home fragrance, games, tech accessories, toys, collectibles, publishing, and lifestyle products through partnerships with companies such as Scentsy, Casetify, Ravensburger, ZURU, and Basic Fun!. 

Cloudco is also investing heavily in experiential entertainment. New initiatives include live shows, touring experiences, themed hospitality concepts, and the first U.S.-based Care Bears play area at Barton Creek Square Mall in Austin, Texas. Additional collaborations, including appearances on The Masked Singer and partnerships with K-pop group ILLIT, highlight the franchise’s growing pop culture relevance. 

New global toy collaborations

The toy category remains a major focus for the brand’s expansion strategy. New global toy collaborations for 2026 include partnerships with Wow! Stuff, PMI Kids’ World, ZURU, and Ravensburger, introducing interactive toys, collectibles, puzzles, plush products, and creative play experiences. Many of these releases are designed to appeal to both children and adult collectors, reflecting the franchise’s strong multi-generational audience. 

Online fan reactions also show strong enthusiasm for upcoming collections and collaborations showcased at major toy fairs in London and New York, with fans particularly excited about new plush styles, collectibles, and crossover collaborations. At the same time, discussions on Reddit reflect how emotionally connected longtime fans remain to the classic Care Bears designs and characters.
