Catan connect the world: First global board game event
Board game history was written on 28 June 2025: In over 40 countries on five continents, more than 4,000 players played the new event game Catan - Connect in one day. The event was held to mark the 30th anniversary of Catan and demonstrates the unifying power and enduring enthusiasm for the classic board game worldwide.
Catan – Connect The World was the first ever global board game event. Thousands of people worldwide played Catan together. A special version of the well-known game was used: Catan - Connect makes it possible to play the classic game with an unlimited number of players at the same time. The predetermined round times, a dice roll for everyone and simultaneous trading and building phases give the game its very special appeal.
A total of 87 events were held in one day, 27 of which took place in participating specialist shops and board game cafés in Germany and Austria. The game rounds were broadcast worldwide via live streams and impressively demonstrated how CATAN brings players together around the globe.
Anniversary year: 30 years of Catan

The central moderation of the event took place live from Munich and accompanied the global games with exciting insights, interviews and commentaries.
