Celebrating 25 years of Harry Potter
In 2026, it will be 25 years since Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone / Sorcerer’s Stone first enchanted cinema audiences. Since its premiere on 16 November 2001, the film has inspired generations of fans and launched a global phenomenon. With seven books, eight films and the upcoming HBO Original Harry Potter TV series set to premiere in 2027, this anniversary is the perfect moment to celebrate the lasting legacy of the wizarding world.
Fan celebrations throughout the year
The 25th anniversary will be woven into major fan moments across 2026. Highlights include an expanded Back to Hogwarts event, the return of Butterbeer Season with touring Butterbeer Trucks and exclusive products, and celebrations for Harry’s birthday with themed events, activities and merchandise at key locations.
Back on the big screen
During the Back to Hogwarts period, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone / Sorcerer’s Stone will return to cinemas worldwide. Fans will be treated to 10 minutes of never-before-seen behind-the-scenes footage. Screenings will take place across North America, EMEA, LATAM and APAC between 27 August and 3 September, with additional immersive experiences and the chance to watch all eight films in theatres.
Shared reality experience
This spring, fans can experience the first film in Shared Reality at Cosm. Locations currently include Los Angeles and Dallas, with Atlanta and Detroit opening later in the year. Tickets go on sale on 4 March 2026.
Limited-edition products
A new silvery 25th anniversary logo inspired by the Patronus will appear across special product ranges. LEGO will release new sets based on iconic film moments, each featuring a collectible anniversary Patronus. Global brands and designers, including MinaLima, will also launch commemorative collections, alongside exclusive anniversary items available in select Harry Potter shops and online.
Worldwide experiences
Harry Potter destinations around the world will mark the anniversary with special events. Warner Bros. Studio Tour London will host a summer feature showcasing iconic props and sets from the first film, while Studio Tour Tokyo will reveal its own anniversary plans soon. Universal theme parks and Warner Bros. Discovery touring experiences will offer limited-time celebrations throughout the year.
A global fan moment
From touring installations in China to a major anniversary takeover at Chadstone in Melbourne, real-world and digital experiences will unite fans worldwide.
