Christine Nicholls to retire from Golden Bear

Co-founder and Deputy Chairman of Golden Bear, Christine Nicholls, has announced her retirement from the company. She spent the early years of her long career working with John Hales at Chad Valley Toy Company before founding Golden Bear together in 1979. Their aim was to produce exciting and high quality soft toys, with Mothercare, Boots, BHS and Woolworths among their first customers.

She remains a shareholder and director of Golden Bear.  Christine will continue to represent the company in her role on the BTHA Council, a position she has held for over 20 years. During this time she became the first female Chair, followed by the role of President.
