Cloudco Entertainment Expands Care Bears Publishing Program

Cloudco Entertainment has expanded the publishing activities for its Care Bears brand, aligning with HarperCollins, Scholastic, Running Press, and Penguin Random House, among others.

The publishing program, which also features partnerships with Bendon in the U.S. and Wanna Publishing in Thailand, runs across gifting, lifestyle, craft, magazines, partworks, and collector-led formats. Publishing has become a significant category for the beloved preschool brand.

“Care Bears has been loved by fans for nearly 45 years, and the momentum we’re seeing in publishing shows just how much potential there is for the brand today,” said Katie Wilkinson, licensing lead for publishing at Cloudco Entertainment. “We’re proud to be working with best-in-class partners to bring the much-loved values of Care Bears to new formats for our multi-generational audience.”

HarperCollins Publishers, as the global English-language children’s publisher (excluding ANZ), will launch its first Care Bears titles this year with the Colors of Caring Coloring Book and A Hug & Seek Book published by HarperPop in the U.S. and Farshore in the U.K. Board books, sticker and activity titles, early readers, and more will follow. HarperPop will also publish the History of the Care Bears in 2027 in the U.S. in time for the brand’s 45th anniversary.

Scholastic Australia has ANZ rights, having launched its first Care Bears titles in late 2025. Coloring and activity formats are part of the slate. In the U.S., Scholastic Publishing will bring the brand into school book fairs and clubs.

Hachette Book Group’s Running Press has acquired rights for select English-language formats, with Care Bears Baby Book: My First Three Years launching this summer and others to follow. Penguin Random House UK has released a Care Bears Colouring Book targeting teens and kidults. Search Press will launch its first Care Bears title next year with Care Bears Granny Squares, marking the brand’s expansion into creative lifestyle publishing.

Further, Hachette serves as the French-language publisher, Schwager & Steinlein Verlag (VEMAG Publishing) is a partner in Germany for activity books, and in Poland, Dressler Dublin will launch its first Care Bears titles this year. Adjacent publishing-led format partners include Luppa Solutions for LatAm and Europe, Kennedy Publishing, Panini UK, and Practical Publishing.
