Coolabi Group appoints Retail Monster UK for Warrior Cats

Coolabi Group has appointed Retail Monster UK as its licensing agent and retail representation partner for Warrior Cats in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

The agreement builds on Coolabi’s existing partnership with Retail Monster US in North America, where Warrior Cats has launched at Walmart and Target. In the UK and Ireland, Retail Monster UK will lead a retail-focused licensing programme covering key categories including apparel, accessories, stationery, collectibles, home, FMCG, and games.

Strong consumer demand

Character Options currently manages distribution in the UK for the Bonkers Toys Warrior Cats product line. Following its launch in June, strong consumer demand has led to plans to accelerate the programme into a second season, including additional plush variants and blind‑box collectible figures.

The licensing agreement comes after the announcement that the Warrior Cats book series is being adapted into an animated television series by Tencent Video and animation studio Original Force for Disney+ and Disney Channel, under an agreement involving Coolabi Group and Disney Kids & Family.

The book series

The book series, created by Working Partners, a Coolabi Group company, and published by HarperCollins in English-speaking markets, has sold more than 90 million books in 38 languages. The franchise also has more than 2 million annual users on its official website, 50 million monthly YouTube views, and nearly 3 billion TikTok views. Its Warrior Cats: Ultimate Edition game on Roblox has recorded more than 728 million plays.

Global fanbase

Allison Watkins, EVP of Licensing & Merchandising at Coolabi Group, said the franchise has a global fanbase across publishing, Roblox, TikTok, and YouTube, and that the company expects this audience to grow with the television series. She also said Coolabi expects the partnership with Retail Monster to deliver similar results in the UK and Ireland to those seen in North America.

Gemma Witts, Managing Director of Retail Monster UK, said the company plans to develop a programme that provides products for the existing Warrior Cats fan community while also introducing the franchise to new audiences through consumer products.
