Crunchyroll expands annual Ani-May campaign 2026
Crunchyroll is expanding its annual Ani-May campaign in 2026 into its biggest global anime celebration yet. The month-long event focuses on anime across streaming, gaming, retail, and live experiences, with activities taking place worldwide throughout May.
Wide range of content releases
Ani-May 2026 includes a wide range of content releases, partnerships, and fan activations. One of the key highlights is the streaming debut of Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, which helps kick off the celebration. In addition, the campaign features daily digital content, livestreams, and community events such as global watch parties and a week-long anime marathon on Twitch.
Introducing celebrity ambassadors
For the first time, Crunchyroll is also introducing celebrity ambassadors, including figures like Rei Ami, Big Sean, and Noah Lyles, to connect anime with broader audiences. The campaign further expands into gaming through collaborations such as a partnership with Forza Horizon 6, offering in-game rewards for subscribers.
Events, merchandise and more
Retail promotions, exclusive merchandise, and brand collaborations are also part of the initiative, alongside major global events. A central highlight is the Crunchyroll Anime Awards on May 23, which celebrates the year’s best anime and will be streamed online for fans worldwide.
Overall, Ani-May has evolved from a simple streaming promotion into a large-scale, multi-platform event designed to connect fans with anime through watching, gaming, shopping, and live experiences across the globe
