Digital Services Act in force

The Digital Services Act (DSA) came into force on August 25.

The 19 major search engines and online platforms designated by the Commission are now legally responsible for the obligations under the DSA.

These include transparency to consumers about why certain information is recommended, as well as new traceability rules for sellers on online marketplaces.

Non-compliance could result in fines of up to 6% of global sales.
