Disney closes Star Wars-themed hotel in Florida

Only about a year ago, Disney opened a "Star Wars"-themed hotel in Florida. Now the mega corporation is already saying goodbye to this costly project.

Disney has announced it is walking away from its Star Wars-themed hotel in Florida just one year after it opened.

Although the hotel certainly received positive reviews from visitors, the stars do not seem to have been in favor of the project.

A Walt Disney World spokesperson praised the hotel as a creative and innovative project that they will learn from for future experiences.

The "final trips" are scheduled to take place between Sept. 28th and 30th, 2023. Guests who booked after that time period are asked to change their plans.

The closure came after Disney CEO Bob Iger admitted that price increases were too aggressive.

Guests were paying between $4,800 and $6,000 per cabin for the two-day experience.

It now remains to be determined how Disney will integrate the hotel experience into future projects.
