Disneyland Resort Marks 70 Years with Celebrations and New Experiences

Disneyland Resort, famously known as The Happiest Place on Earth, is celebrating its 70th anniversary with a series of special events and tributes. The milestone was marked by honoring the cast members who have shaped the park’s legacy, including an exclusive early morning celebration, live entertainment, and a flag-raising ceremony featuring veteran staff.

Disney CEO Bob Iger and Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro addressed cast members on Main Street, U.S.A., before joining Mickey and Minnie Mouse to ring the New York Stock Exchange opening bell and welcome guests into the park. Iger reflected on Disneyland’s enduring magic, stating, “70 years later, Disneyland remains one of Walt’s greatest achievements—a place where generations have entered a world of joy and imagination.”

Since its opening in 1955, Disneyland Resort has grown to include two theme parks, three hotels, and the Downtown Disney District, continually expanding with new experiences like the Avengers Campus, Avatar, and Coco attractions. The 70th anniversary also features a new advertising campaign, limited-time offerings, commemorative souvenirs, and the debut of the “Walt Disney – A Magical Life” attraction.

Disneyland’s 70-year journey highlights the power of immersive storytelling and the park’s role as a global destination for family memories and pop culture experiences.
