Dwarf Animation is bought out by France.tv
The production branch of public broadcaster France Télévisions, France.tv studio, has acquired a majority stake in Dwarf Animation, also a French studio.
Dwarf Animation has produced series in real-time CG animation style such as "My Dad the Bounty Hunter" (Netflix) or "Monsters at Work" (Disney+), among others.
Through the new ownership, the indie company is expected to be given a better infrastructure while maintaining its creative independence.
The change in ownership is intended to create an opportunity to expand Dwarf's visual development and storyboarding capabilities.
Furthermore, founder and chairman of Dwarf, Olivier Pinol, will continue to lead the studio and its nearly 30 employees.
The purchase of the studio is a step toward building a creative hub in the south of France with a strong talent base in animation and
developing advanced production technologies and techniques for the French film industry.
