Federal Express Corporation: new findings from survey of SMEs in Europe published

Federal Express Corporation has published new findings from a survey of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Europe that operate internationally. The results predict strong sales for German SMEs in the run-up to Christmas. Almost 8 out of 10 (76 percent) expect their sales in this year's end-of-year business to be better than last year.

The importance of e-commerce

The survey, conducted in September 2025, polled more than 1,200 SMEs in nine European markets that trade internationally. It examined business expectations for the 2025 year-end business and the importance of international e-commerce festivals such as Black Friday (November 28) and Cyber Monday (December 1).

Respondents are optimistic

The results show that respondents are optimistic. One-fifth (20 percent) of German SMEs expect significantly better sales than last year, while another 56 percent expect slightly better sales. Companies in Turkey (95 percent), Poland (88 percent), and the Netherlands (85 percent) expressed the greatest hopes.
