First footage of Moana live-action film revealed
The first footage shows Catherine Laga'aia and Dwayne Johnson in the first trailer for Disney's live-action adaptation of Moana.The live-action adaptation of the successful original animated film from 2026 is expected to hit theaters in July 2026 and is eagerly awaited.
First look
The trailer shows Catherine Laga'aia in the title role singing the song “How Far I'll Go.” The trailer also offers a first look at the inhabitants of Motunui, Johnson's shape-shifter Maui, and the fearsome Kakamora tribe.
The cast also includes John Tui as Moana's father, Chief Tui, Frankie Adams as Moana's mother, Sina, and Rena Owen as Moana's grandmother, Tala.
