Formula 1 reports strong growth during the first half of the 2026 season
Formula 1 has released its 2026 mid-season review, highlighting continued growth in attendance, television audiences, and fan engagement during the first 11 races of the season.
All 11 Grands Prix held so far have been sold out, with nearly 3.7 million spectators attending race weekends, compared with 3.4 million over the same events in 2025. Six circuits also recorded new attendance records, including Australia, Canada, Austria, Great Britain, Belgium, and Hungary. Attendance increased in several markets, with Japan up 18% and Great Britain up 13%.
Strong growth in TV audiences
Formula 1 also reported strong growth in TV audiences across key markets. Viewership increased by 27% in Italy, 18% in Brazil, 16% in Australia, 13% in France, 9% in the United States, and 5% in the United Kingdom compared with the previous season. The Monaco Grand Prix attracted nearly 80 million viewers worldwide, making it the most-watched race of the season so far.
Global fan base emerges
According to Formula 1, the sport's global fan base continues to become younger and more diverse. Women now represent 42% of fans, while 43% are under the age of 35. The report also highlights strong engagement across digital platforms, with social media content, including the drivers' LEGO parade at Silverstone, generating more than 70 million views.
Formula 1 said the figures demonstrate sustained global interest in the championship and reflect continued momentum across live events, broadcasting, and digital engagement during the first half of the 2026 season.
