Frankfurt Book Fair was marked by political discourse
The 75th Frankfurt Book Fair once again demonstrated its position as the most important international meeting place for the book and media industry: With 105,000 trade visitors (previous year: 93,000) from 130 countries and 110,000 private visitors (previous year: 87,000), the Frankfurt Book Fair once again managed a growth spurt after the two corona years 2020 and 2021. The number of visitors on the two public days Saturday and Sunday was more than a third higher than in 2022. More than 4,000 exhibitors from 95 countries presented themselves in the halls. The Literary Agents & Scouts Centre (LitAg), which was booked out early, reported record occupancy with 548 tables. With rights dealers from a total of 324 agencies and over 35,000 admissions, the LitAg was busier than ever before. More than 7,000 media representatives reported on the 2,600 events on the trade and public days.
Clear statement
Juergen Boos, Director of the Frankfurt Book Fair, says about the balance of the anniversary Fair: "Our formula for success is 'interest follows relevance'.People come here from all over the world because they know that a presence in Frankfurt is indispensable for their own business.Add to that the growing political importance of the Frankfurt Book Fair in times of war and crisis, when defending the freedom of the word becomes all the more important."
