Frozen celebrates 10th anniversary
It's been ten years since the gates of Arendelle opened and the heartwarming story of two sisters, Elsa and Anna, who keep finding each other against all odds and dangers, took little and big hearts by storm. The record-breaking film has been a pop culture phenomenon since its premiere in 2013, inspiring millions of toys, video games, books, sing-alongs, recipes and hairstyles - including a successful stage show. The film tells the touching story of Elsa and Anna in an epic and encouraging adventure about the bond of sisterhood, letting go of expectations and never giving up. Even after a decade, the fascination with the world of ice continues unabated - there's probably hardly a household with children that doesn't regularly hear, "I'm letting go, let go now..."
Study1 shows the impressive impact
A Disney-commissioned study by Dr. Sarah Godfrey of the University of East Anglia titled Lessons From Arendelle: The Cultural Phenomenon of Disney's Frozen details the film's impact on society - from the tourism boom in Norway, which increased by 20 percent because the country served as inspiration for Arendelle, to parents desperate to grab a must- have product for Christmas, to the success of sing-along videos on YouTube - including 3.2 billion views of "Let it Go" - and the popularity of the name Elsa.
