Great Britain: Labubu sales stopped for the time being

The small key rings, which are experiencing a huge trend online, became an international celebrity a few months ago. The manufacturer has now announced that it will have to intervene due to the high demand, which is leading to disputes in stores.

Stopping the sale until June

According to reports from the BBC, Popmart has stopped the sale of all Labubu products in the UK for the time being. The toy manufacturer launched the figure by artist Kasing Lung in 2019. However, the furry monsters will no longer be available in the UK until June.

“Labubu will return to physical stores in June and we are currently working on a new sales mechanism that is better structured and fairer for everyone involved,” Popmart told the BBC. In recent weeks, some fans have made pilgrimages to the stores the night before and spent the whole night there.

Labubu hype leads to shortages and extreme prices

Marketing experts, however, warned the BBC about the pause in sales. This would lead to an even higher demand, which in turn could lead to new disputes in the stores.
