Hasbro and Max-Matching Entertainments Announce World’s Largest Peppa Pig Outdoor Theme Park in Shanghai
Hasbro and Max-Matching Entertainments have unveiled new details about the world’s largest and Asia’s first Peppa Pig Outdoor Theme Park, currently under development on Changxing Island in Chongming, Shanghai. With an investment of approximately 2.4 billion Chinese Yuan (US$331 million), the mega park will span over 48 acres and feature five themed zones, including Peppa’s neighborhood, urban, water, snow, and nature areas.
The park will offer more than 30 unique indoor and outdoor Peppa Pig experiences, such as muddy puddle jumping, a Ferris wheel, and interactive shows, along with a vibrant commercial street for themed retail and dining. Fans can also look forward to exclusive merchandise and the world’s first Peppa Pig themed hotel, offering over 400 rooms for families to extend their adventure.
“This collaboration sets new standards for immersive family entertainment and expands Peppa Pig’s presence in China,” said Matt Proulx, Senior Vice President at Hasbro. Owen Zhao, President of Max-Matching Entertainments, added, “We are excited to tailor a brand-new Shanghai Peppa Pig Outdoor Theme Park for Chinese consumers with a larger-than-ever scale and investment.”
In addition to the Shanghai park, Hasbro and Max-Matching plan to develop more themed entertainment projects across China in the next three years, including a family entertainment center cluster, the world’s first Peppa Pig Ice & Snow World, and a Hasbro Play & Stay hotel featuring TRANSFORMERS, MY LITTLE PONY, and Peppa Pig. A second Peppa Pig theme park is also in the pipeline, with the location to be announced later this year.
These projects reinforce Hasbro’s commitment to delivering world-class family entertainment and Max-Matching’s vision to bring unforgettable themed experiences to the region.
