Hasbro announces addition to Board of Directors
Hasbro has announced the appointment of Doug Bowser, former President and COO of Nintendo of America, and Carla Vernón, CEO of The Honest Company, to its Board of Directors.
Strengthening leadership expertise
Rich Stoddart, Chair of Hasbro’s Board, said the appointments add significant leadership experience in consumer brands and franchise management. Both executives are expected to provide valuable guidance as Hasbro continues to drive long-term innovation and growth.
Doug Bowser’s background
Doug Bowser spent more than a decade at Nintendo of America, serving as President and COO from 2019 until his retirement. He led the company through a period of record growth driven by the success of the Nintendo Switch and oversaw the launch of Nintendo Switch 2 in the Americas. His tenure also included expanding Nintendo’s licensed merchandise business, opening the Nintendo San Francisco flagship store, and growing the company’s presence in Latin America. Bowser previously held senior roles at Electronic Arts and spent over two decades at Procter & Gamble in sales leadership positions.
Carla Vernón’s experience
Carla Vernón has been CEO of The Honest Company since January 2023, where she has led a strategic and financial turnaround focused on profitability and sustainable growth. Prior to this, she was Vice President of Consumables at Amazon, with responsibility for P&L, supply chain, and technology across key categories. Earlier in her career, she held senior leadership roles at General Mills, where she drove transformation and growth across well-known brands including Cheerios, Annie’s, Nature Valley, and Larabar.
