Hot Wheels's searches for first 'Tiniest Team Principal

Mattel and its brand Hot Wheels have launched a new international competition aimed at young Formula One fans. The contest, titled “Tiniest Team Principal,” gives children from the United Kingdom, United States, and Mexico the chance to become official Hot Wheels ambassadors.

Open to children aged five to ten

The competition is open to children aged five to ten. Parents or legal guardians must submit a video explaining why their child has the qualities needed to lead a racing team. Organizers say they are looking for creativity, passion for cars, leadership skills, and strong ideas about racing and vehicle design.

All-expenses-paid trip to their home nation’s 2026 Grand Prix

Three winners — one from each participating country — will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to their home nation’s 2026 Grand Prix. The prize package also includes behind-the-scenes access to Formula 1 and Hot Wheels, custom racing gear, the full Hot Wheels F1 collection, and a visit to Hot Wheels headquarters in California. There, the winners will work with designers to create their own unique Hot Wheels Formula 1 car.

The judging panel includes Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali, 2009 Formula 1 world champion Jenson Button, Mattel executive Ted Wu, and Hot Wheels designer Kristina Albrecht.

According to Mattel, the initiative is designed to celebrate young fans who are passionate about cars, racing, and imagination. The competition opened on May 20 and runs until June 16, with winners scheduled to be announced on June 23.
